• In June 2020, Richmond's historic Christopher Columbus Monument was toppled during protests. The Italian-American Cultural Association of Virginia (IACA) rescued and restored the 93-year-old landmark, securing its permanent home at the site of the Rockland Order of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Blauvelt, NY.
    Building on this spirit of resilience and preservation, IACA established The Columbus Legacy Grant Program to extend its service beyond the monument itself.

  • The Columbus Legacy Grant Program (CLGP) preserves the historical and cultural legacy of Christopher Columbus while honoring the enduring American immigrant journey. We transform heritage into action by providing humanitarian outreach, educational initiatives, and charitable support to legal immigrants, refugees, and families in need throughout metropolitan Richmond.

We realize that no single organization can meet every need within a community. Some challenges require resources, knowledge, and services that extend beyond our reach.
