President’s Message:

Greetings, Fellow IACA Members:

It is with heartfelt sadness that once again I must announce the passing of one of our valued members, Tim Raiford. Tim was one of the essential IACA members who provided his services during the repair and restoration of the Columbus Statue.

In particular, Tim offered to house the Columbus statue in his warehouse at his 14-acre property in Mechanicsville until funds were accumulated for its repair and restoration, which also took place on-site at Tim's property. IACA is truly grateful to Tim for his generosity. He will be sorely missed.

Our Social Event in May was held at the Tanglewood Ordinary Country Restaurant in Goochland and was well received by all who attended. The most recent Social Event was held on Sunday, June 7th, at the Lakehouse at St. Michael's. The menu consisted of appetizers, salad, and a variety of different Pizza choices to suit all members' and guests' individual tastes. Our entertainment was presented by a group of seven ladies called the Flute Forté.

We all enjoyed their playing. The social concluded with our familiar entertainment master, Fred Corritone. The next Social Event will take place at St. Michael's Lake House on July 19th at 1:00pm. IACA will present IACA Member Scholarships of $500.00 each to Chloe Fecentese, granddaughter of Joe Iacometta, and Landon Pollard, grandson of Eileen and Mick Gruss.

These two graduating high school seniors were chosen for their academic excellence and will continue their education, with Chloe attending James Madison University and Landon attending The College of William and Mary. Congratulations to both students and their proud grandparents!

Other planned upcoming events will include: The fabulous, fun-filled, annual Italian Fest in Blauvelt, New York, September 10th-13th. Last year, 15 of our members attended, and Freddy Coritone entertained us on stage that weekend. Details are included in this newsletter.

A Day at the Races on Thursday, August 20th, at 12:30 PM at Colonial Downs in New Kent, VA. Details are included in this newsletter.

A day trip to Monticello on October 15th. Details are included in this newsletter. Happy Hour get-togethers will resume in September. Watch for details. As you can see, IACA continues to offer many entertaining choices, and we appreciate your support. I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events.

Best Regards,

Rick Gentile
