President’s Message:
Greetings and a Happy, Healthy New Year to All,
When I was elected as IACA's President last year, I never imagined I would be able to assist and contribute in a new and positive direction for our Italian-American culture and heritage in our organization.
2025 was quite the year! We continued our monthly socials at our home away from home, St. Michael's Lakehouse. Along with our themed socials of Soup-R- Bowl Party in January, Carnivale in February and Christmas Dolce Party in December, we moved the March St. Joseph's Day luncheon event to the Lakehouse while continuing two Sunday socials at nearby restaurants that were well received by the membership.
The year also included a day trip in August to Colonial Downs, a weekend trip in September to attend the Italian Festival sponsored by the Sons of Italy Lodge in Blauvelt, NY, and in October, a bus trip to Washington DC to visit The St. John Paul II National Shrine and The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
All of this could not have happened without the hard and tireless efforts of my fellow Board members, who I deeply appreciate and consider family.
As we move into 2026, we’re excited about the events, programs, and social gatherings ahead. Our goal this year is to build on what we do best- bringing people together-while also exploring new ideas that reflect the interests and spirit of our members. I encourage you to stay engaged, share your thoughts, and consider getting involved in activities or committees that interest you.
Thank you for being part of IACA and helping to make this organization meaningful. I look forward to seeing you at upcoming events and sharing another memorable year together.
Wishing you a wonderful start to 2026.
Regards,
Rick Gentile
